The Bangladesh Society of New York is known to the people of Bangladesh as the ‘Umbrella Organization’.

 

The Bangladesh Society of New York was established in early 1976. The past activities of Bangladesh Society are very rich and prosperous. This organization has always tried to maintain its neutral political image. As a result, people of all ideologies and paths have always been its members. More than 300,000 Bangladeshis live in New York City. Almost all of them have been recognizing the Bangladesh Society as a guardian organization. In the Corona epidemic of 2020-21, Bangladesh Society stood by the victims only out of social responsibility. They showed greatness by burying dead Bangladeshis in Corona.

 

A graveyard has been established by purchasing land with the own funds of Bangladesh Society. So far 220 Bangladeshis have been buried there. All the expenses of this burial have been borne by the Bangladesh Society. Through such great works, Bangladesh Society has become a symbol of trust and respect in the Bangladeshi community in New York.
